Animal Save & Care Portugal was founded in 2018 with the aim of working for the liberation of all animals who are victims of human exploitation.
We began by raising public awareness of the reality experienced by all animals used for human food, carrying out research, street activism and vigils outside slaughterhouses and seaports. After the first rescue of 11 cattle in 2019 that were going to the slaughterhouse, we never stopped working for the animals that needed to be saved in Portugal.

My name is Alexa Young
In 2021, on a plot of land empty of structures and life, we began to build our Sanctuary from scratch.
The co-founder and President of the ASC inherited the land from her family, which had previously been a farm that exploited animals for food, and there we began to create our little vegan world, free of suffering and pain for all the beings we have rescued over the years, a world where respect, kindness, equality, inclusion and awareness are the basis of morality and ethical values.

To inspire the public to choose to leave animals off their plates, to adopt a vegan lifestyle and a 100% plant-based diet. To help the public choose for the lives of all, the survival of the planet and the preservation of their health.
